You may want to consider Integrative Medicine, if you or a loved one suffers from chronic pain. Integrative Medicine involves a blend of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) and traditional Western medicine. It combines the concept of healing through mind, body, spirit and community.

At Pacific Pain & Wellness Group, we provide individualized approach to Integrative Medicine and customize our treatment and care based on every person’s needs. What works for one person may not work for another person. Integrative Medicine involves various modalities that may be included in an integrative care model. Your Pain Management team will discuss your best options. Our multi-disciplinary team of healthcare experts will discuss the most effective combination of treatments and therapies to treat specific conditions.

Integrative Medicine Modalities

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy includes techniques to increase awareness and the capacity for self-observation, changes in behavior and the way one thinks about things, and developing insight and empathy. Desired results may be to enable other choices of thought, feeling, or action, to increase the sense of well-being and to better manage subjective discomfort or distress. Read more on Psychotherapy.

Medications

Medications remain an important element of Integrative Medicine that helps treat, manage and alleviate painful conditions. Depending on your condition and severity of pain, your Pain Management Physicians will discuss your options and answer your questions before prescribing medications to help control pain.

Therapeutic Injections

Pacific Pain & Wellness group offer therapeutic injections (see the list below) to alleviate acute and chronic pain syndromes. Therapeutic blocks are appropriate for alleviating acute pain, helping patients decrease the need for analgesics.
