Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)

Pacific Pain & Wellness Group provides targeted Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) pain management treatments to alleviate the debilitating effects of chronic pain.

What is Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)?

Radiofrequency Ablation is a minimally invasive procedure that involves heating up a small area of a nerve to disrupt the transmission of pain signals to the brain. RFA provides long-term pain relief for patients with chronic pain in the lower back, neck, and joints, and is often used to relieve arthritis pain.

How does Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) Treatment work?

Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) therapy is performed as an outpatient procedure, right in our Pacific Pain & Wellness Group office, using light sedation and local anesthetic. The treatment is highly targeted, with precision guidance of a needle to the affected nerve. Once the needle is in place, an electrode is inserted, which heats the nerve tissue and interrupts the pain signals traveling to the brain.

How can Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) Help with Pain Management?

Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) is an excellent choice for people with chronic pain who have not responded to other treatments or who want to avoid the invasiveness and risks of surgery. If you have experienced pain for six months or longer and responded well to nerve block treatments, RFA may be an ideal treatment option for you. At Pacific Pain & Wellness Group, our experienced clinicians provide personalized treatment plans to help you achieve long-lasting pain relief and improve your quality of life.
